About Us

Value of Using FOIA Professional Services:

We are a boutique and personalized FOIA service but not with boutique pricing! We charge a flat rate for our FOIA request services. Within that flat rate, we do all the heavy lifting it takes to get the FOIA request fulfilled. Our flat rate begins at $95.00.

We offer consulting to our clients and walk through the process with them. We are unique in that we have been in business for 10 years and have been solely focused on FOIA requests. It has never been an ad on service. We are experts on all 50 states FOIA laws and also federal FOIA laws. We can coach you through the process. We are also very well versed across industries and can assist you with any questions you may have about what you can obtain.

We started our business because we value and place immense importance on the ability to access information from public offices in the United States. Most countries do not allow citizens to obtain information on how the government is run, how decisions are made or the outcomes of internal discussions and correspondence. Although in the United States, information within the government’s files may be releasable, it can be a time consuming and intricate process. Call now and let us handle your Freedom of Information Act request from start to finish, so you don’t have to worry about the red tape. This is where we come in. FOIA Professional Services was founded in 2015 and we have always provided consistent and reliable service to businesses across the United States who need information from local governments, public schools and universities, and federal agencies. Read what others have said about how we helped with their Freedom of Information Act request on our testimonials page. Over the past 10 years, we have spent countless hours learning the FOIA laws and intricacies of public records laws in each state in the United States. Each state has slightly different laws regarding what they can release, how long they can process a request, and who they can release it to. We’ll help you avoid common mistakes and delays, reach out now for expert guidance on your Freedom of Information Act request. We are well versed in each state’s laws and regulations.

Additionally, four states have restrictions and they only allow citizens or companies within that state to request information. These states are Alabama, Arkansas, South Carolina, Delaware, and Kentucky. We have team members in each of these states and they take care of the request process for that location.

We schedule an initial consultation with a client who has more questions about specific state/s they are interested in requesting information from. Get a free consultation today to find out exactly what kind of Freedom of Information Act request best fits your needs. We guide them through the process and the best way to word a request or when to submit a request.

Once we receive a request from a client, we submit the request within the same business day or first thing the next morning if received after 12:00 PM Central time. Once submitted, we follow up within the time frame allotted by the state we submitted to. If it is a federal request, we follow up within 30 business days. Once we have confirmation that the agency received our request, we then follow up every 30 days until they send us the information.

No headaches

Our internal system is set up so that we can log in and see all of the requests we are working on for our clients in one place. It saves our client time and headache as we have all of the information for the government agency and the contact we are speaking with saved and easily accessible in our system. Let us take the guesswork out of your Freedom of Information Act request, call today and save yourself the hassle. All of our team members are US based employees who diligently work on each of the requests under their name until the request is completed. We also save all of our correspondence with the agencies’ representatives in a communication log so that is easy to reference if our client ever has questions or wants to see the back and forth with the agency.

Payments to agencies

Sending out checks and payments to agencies can be time-consuming and difficult to keep track of. It is also a burden to set up a new vendor in the system. We take care of this side of the request as well. We contact our client for approval if we receive a fee estimate from the government office. We then promptly pay the agency fee. We bill our clients at the end of the month for any fees approved within that month. If there is a government fee approved by our client, once we receive the information back from the agency, we review the material and send it to our client.

Value:

We save time and money. In many cases, lawyers will charge several times more than our flat-rate price. We save our client’s valuable time that can best be spent elsewhere to grow their business.

We have extensive FOIA knowledge in all 50 states and across federal agencies

We conduct quality control checks to ensure all that we requested was received.

We have an organized system and CRM to track all requests. When you use us, your request does not get lost in the system. We follow up frequently with the agency. Our normal follow up is every 30 calendar days. However, if the agency tells us they will respond within 2 weeks (as an example), we follow up on the date the agency tells us they will release the documents.

We are reliable and responsive service. Once you send us the request you can “forget it” until we receive the documents back. Want to see how smooth your own Freedom of Information Act request can be? Check out our Google reviews to see why clients trust us.

If the agency does not respond or if there is turnover in the FOIA Office, we take care of this and will contact others in the office until we receive a response.

Not a Cookie Cutter service

We have an organized system in place for all our requests. However, as each FOIA request we send is different, we are not rigid with how we handle each request. We must constantly adapt as we handle different situations every day. We have a unique understanding of how FOIA requests are processed as we have submitted FOIA requests all over the United States for 10 years. We have encountered countless situations over the years, and this helps us answer clients’ questions no matter what industry they are in or what they need.
